Mears/Householder Twirl at BGSU By: Ali Mears
On Monday, August 8, 2005 Ms. Rachel Householder and Ms. Ali Mears went to Bowling Green State University to audition for the 2005 BGSU Twirling Line. All summer they have been preparing two routines to perform in front of the judges. After a seven hour audition, which also included performing two routines learned that day, both girls were chosen as two of the nine twirlers at Bowling Green. Both Rachel and Ali have been twirling for over ten years, including four years as Evergreen Majorettes. They also have been members of the senior team of the Evergreen Twirling Sensations where they have participated in competitions at local, regional, and national levels. Both are very excited about twirling for the Falcons and hope to see many faces cheering them on at the halftime shows.
Enrollment Up The Evergreen Local Schools are growing. Especially in the kindergarten, where 117 students started the 2005-06 school year. Last year 80 kindergarten students started the first day. School officials have added a 5th kindergarten class to accommodate the increased enrollment. The extra class is a developmental kindergarten class for these kindergarten students who are very young or not quite ready for regular kindergarten. By giving these students an extra year to get ready for school, their chances for success will be greatly improved. Below are the opening enrollment numbers for the 2005-06 school year. Elementary School Grade Enrollment Pre-K 53 DK 19 K 98 1 74 2 76 3 80 4 78 5 90 Total 568 Middle School Grade Enrollment 6 112 7 107 8 128 Total 347 High School Grade Enrollment 9 128 10 112 11 86 12 94 4 County Grade Enrollment 11 25 12 467 Total Pre -K thru 12 - 1383 Last years opening Enrollment was 1338.
